Gallery 151 will be reopening at it’s 350 Bowery location as of Oct 1st.
The first show of the “DOWNTOWN 20-10” series will open Thursday October 7th with John Platt’s one man show.

GALLERY 151

Gallery 151 is a pop up gallery that goes into different real estate spaces sponsored by building developer Michael Namer & his partners through the The Urban Green Initiative - an ongoing series of art exhibitions, music concerts & dance performances that will encourage an artistic approach to ongoing conversations about environmental awareness.

The birth of Gallery 151 came from a very important piece of art that was discovered by Matthew Namer. The piece was put on display in the building it was found in, 151 Wooster and the rest is history.
The video below documents the story of the famous 151 Wooster “Wildstyle” tag wall that started it all.

The Urban Green Initiative

The Urban Green Initiative, a series of art exhibitions, music concerts and dance performances that focus awareness on climate change and the importance of living in a responsible and sustainable way through the vision and language of the arts.  The Urban Green Initiative events are sponsored by 311 E 11: Village Green, a new luxury condominium targeted to be the first LEED Gold certified residential building in the East Village.
